DISPLACEMENT SERIES

My art practice is informed by my own immigration history from South America into the US in the 1990’s. In my work, I portray my personal experiences related to trauma, struggles and sense of invisibility in two series that are comprised of metaphorical and “alternate reality” artworks.

“Displacement Series” explores the complex layers of urgent climate change matters and the human displacement caused as a result of environmental catastrophes. The works also deal with the existing political structures that hinder humans from crossing geographical frontiers in search for a new and dignified life and a place to call home.
